Privacy Policy

Revel Tally ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Account information — your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Event data — event names, budgets, expenses, and attendee information you enter into the app.
Contact information — phone numbers and email addresses of people you invite to your events.
Usage data — how you interact with the app, including features used and actions taken.
Diagnostics — if the app crashes or hits an error, we collect a crash report containing the error, the stack trace, and device information such as model, operating system version, and app version. Reports are linked to your account identifier so we can tell how many people a problem affects, and are automatically stripped of names, email addresses, phone numbers, and access tokens before they leave your device. They never contain your event, expense, or payment data.

How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Revel Tally service.
To send event invitations by email, or to prepare an SMS invitation that the organizer sends from their own device.
To send in-app notifications relevant to your events.
To respond to support requests.
To improve the app based on usage patterns.
To diagnose and fix crashes and errors.
To produce anonymized, aggregated event statistics (see Data Retention & Deletion).

SMS Messaging

Revel Tally does not send SMS messages. When an event organizer invites someone by phone number, the app opens the organizer's own Messages app with a pre-filled invitation link; the organizer sends it from their own device and phone number. We do not transmit, deliver, or store SMS messages, and we do not use a third-party SMS provider. A phone number entered for an invitation is used only to prepare that message on the organizer's device and is not shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with:

Service providers — third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g., email delivery, database hosting, push notification delivery, and crash reporting). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us at support@revel-tally.com.

We may retain anonymized event statistics — such as event type, location, budget totals, spending by category, and vendor pricing — to improve the app and build features like budget guidance. These statistics contain no names, contact details, account identifiers, or anything else that could identify you or your guests, and are kept even after an event or account is deleted.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.

Children's Privacy

Revel Tally is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your Revel Tally account and all associated personal data at any time.

In the app — go to Profile → Account → Delete Account.
By email — send a request to support@revel-tally.com from the address associated with your account.

We will delete your account and all personal data within 30 days of receiving your request. Event data shared with other participants (such as expense records) may be retained in anonymized form.

Facebook / Meta users: Revel Tally uses the Meta API only to publish promotional content to its own Facebook Page, Instagram, and Threads accounts. We do not collect or store any personal data from Facebook users via this integration. If you have questions about Meta's data practices, visit Meta's Privacy Policy.
